I deal with product buildup, dry shampoo residue, and oily roots, so I’m always looking for a clarifying shampoo that actually cleans without stripping my hair. I used the OUAI Detox Shampoo about once a week as part of my routine, usually followed by a deep conditioner. This shampoo lathers really well and gives that true “clean scalp” feeling. After rinsing, my hair felt noticeably lighter and less weighed down, especially at the roots. It removed buildup from styling products and dry shampoo without making my hair feel overly dry or squeaky. I did notice my hair stayed fresher for longer between washes. That said, this is definitely a strong clarifying shampoo, so I wouldn’t recommend using it every wash if you have dry or color-treated hair. I think it works best as a weekly reset rather than an everyday shampoo. The scent is clean and subtle, and a little goes a long way. Overall, this is a great option if you struggle with buildup or greasy roots and want a true detox wash that still leaves your hair manageable afterward. Great for oily roots + product build up!!

I’ve used the Detox shampoo religiously in my weekly hair care routine. I tend to have oily roots but dry ends and reached out to my hairdresser for advice on how to deal with that. This was her number one recommendation, go in with the Detox shampoo once a week and it’s worked so well for me. It’s been about 7 months now that I’ve been using it and don’t ever think to switch. I really love how afterwards you can immediately feel how clean the hair and scalp is and it really has helped manage my oily roots!

I absolutely am in love with a shampoo and will definitely be adding it to my regular routine. Makes my hair feel so soft and clean, especially with all the different products and dry shampoos that I am using through throughout the different seasons.

Loved this product! Perfect for hair wash day, it left my scalp feeling refreshed and light! My pores could breath. I will definitely be keeping this shampoo in rotation on hair wash days! Helped with decreasing oil buildup the next days too!

Love this weekly ritual

I like to use this once a week to get my scalp a really deep clean. In the past I have struggled with seb derm and want to make sure my scalp doesn’t have build up and this detox shampoo really works too wash out any product and oils without stripped my scalp and hair.

This detox shampoo from Ouai is a solid one. I'm on my second bottle and will continue to use it. It really cleans my hair without irritating my scalp or making my hair feel super dry and tangled up like some other detox shampoos. A little goes a long way too.
