Good for achieving smooth hair in the humid South

I've had the Airstrait for a month now and am pleased with its performance. I live in the US South where the humidity makes keeping my hair straight and smooth a challenge during the spring and summer months. The Airstrait offers the right amount of heat and makes fairly short work of drying and straightening my hair. I particularly like that I don't have to repeatedly straighten my hair a couple times in the morning like I usually do with a typical flatiron. It took a couple uses to feel 100% comfortable with using the tool properly, so that the air flowed in the correct direction, but I believe that was part of a normal learning curve. A (minor) complaint is that it is not a small tool and noticeably takes up room on my bathroom counter, especially the plug. Overall, though, I am satisfied with the purchase and its performance.

Fantastic features

I purchased the Dyson Air Straightener, and I am very glad I did. It dries my hair beautifully, leaving it smooth and soft. The temperature is perfect for my hair. I purchased the copper and nickel one. I recommend buying one. The build technology is fantastic, and it dries hair fast and efficiently. The design is beautiful.

An amazing invention by Dyson

This product is an amazing invention by Dyson. It takes what used to be a two-step process (blow dry hair before it gets all curly, use a roll brush to pull as much as you can to get the frizz out, and then flat iron) to a one-step magical process of dry my hair in sections and voilà it's perfect! No more frizz, and my hair actually seems healthier. Definitely worth the price!

Doesn’t straighten smoothly

Does not straighten my hair as well as a flat iron. Causing frizz. Will try to continue practicing with it for a little while longer. Will return if it doesn’t improve in performance.

I just purchased the Airstrait and I do like it but it is too heavy.

Not for me

Unfortunately, the Dyson Airstrait did not work on my hair. I have extremely thick, long hair. It is curly/wavy that tends to frizz easily. This product did not dry my hair fully no matter how many passes I used my hair was still damp. My hair looked great as soon as I was finished, but in 10 minutes it was just frizz b/c of the moisture in my hair. This caused me to have to use an iron on my hair which defeats the purpose of the product. I can air dry and then iron with less damage. I also lost a ton of hair when using. My bathroom was covered in hair worse than blow drying. I am now attempting to return the product b/c I cannot justify the cost. I really wanted this to work and I know several people who have this and love it.....just not with my hair type.

Worth the expense

I bought the Dyson Airstrait after my sister straightened my hair with her Dyson. My hair seemed like I spent the day at the salon. The day my Dyson arrived I could not wait to shower the next day to try it out myself. I got a great compliment from my stylish niece. She asked if I just got my hair cut and styled and said it looked so good! I am not the most patient or adept woman that does my hair often. So having the Dyson which is easy to use and makes me feel good deserves ALL OF THE STARS. Now, I need to figure out how to afford to purchase the hair dryer so I can do my hair curly!

SUPERB product

Super loved and highly recommended this product, the only thing Cons is the Cord very easy to tangle and cannot use in the world. I have to buy for US and Europe/Asia usage

I thought a lot about whether I would spend this much money on a straightener. But I'm glad I bought it. I shower every day and I got rid of chemical keratin hair treatments. I have very thick and long hair, you could say it's 2 heads of hair. But I have soft, straight hair in half an hour at most.

worth the price

I'm guilty of damaging my hair, straightening it almost every other day. Dyson airstrait is my attempt to being gentle with my hair. Easy to use, saves a lot of time. Would highly recommend investing on this device.
