Aromatics Elixir - Parfum

My friend wore this in high school and I was convinced it smelled like a hint of “Off” Bugspray . . . No, no, no!!! Several years later I tried it myself and WOW!! It’s a clean, statement-making, bold fragrance, and after an hour of having it on the fragrance mixes with your body chemistry and takes on “you.” Use the matching body cream or lotion first at your pulse points and it enhances the perfume. It’s a head turner, I’ve had men stop me just to breathe it in and demand to know what I’m wearing. It’s that alluring and is in a class by itself. Don’t shy away from this one, it definitely grows on you and entices men. My first impression was absolutely wrong!! Love this and have been wearing it for 35 years!!

I was about to celebrate my 62, I ordered the Aromatics Elixir and it smells nothing at all like I remember. My Mom used it for years and she gave me a bottle and I’ve used it for years as well, once she passed I continued to wear it because it truly reminded me of her, it does not have the same smell at all

This is the best perfume ever! It’s a little overwhelming at first but when other people smell it on you they will be drawn to you! This definitely falls into the “clean” family. It’s not soapy at all. Lasts such a long time! I hope they never stop making it!

An a-type personality's perfume!

I wore Fendi Donna (the original) since I was 17 (impulse purchase at Harrod's that was meant to be). I was heartbroken when it was discontinued. This isn't a perfect match, but after over a decade of searching, this is the next best thing. If you love Opium, Shalimar, and those other amazing 80's scents (or of their style - think Tom Ford or Serge Lutens), I would definitely give this a go.

Unconventional and old-fashioned

Proceed with caution and use very, very sparingly. I only apply one small spritz on my chest underneath the clothes, not on all major pulse points like with other fragrances. It lasts all day (12+ hours). This perfume can and will be overwhelming if you use too much. This is a statement fragrance, it is very complex and strong and it’s not for everyone. It is an old-fashioned scent and smells like it. It was launched in 1971, but it somewhat reminds me of a wooden dresser that is several centuries old. I picture an established lady from 1800s smelling like this. I’m a perfume junky and have a wide variety of scents to suit every mood, outfit, weather, etc. To me, this is not an everyday scent. It’s strong and powerful, yet warm and cozy. I certainly appreciate having this in my collection.

The way to wear Aromatics Elixir

Lovely scent. The best way to wear this is to spray the air and walk into it. I was a Clinique girl years ago and that’s how we were taught to explain the fragrance. If you spray too much on your skin it will be overwhelming.

Not for me

I was hoping for an Aveda-type scent, but this was not it. It smells very much like an eighty-year-old who still gets her hair set on Mondays.

I always thought this fragrance was unique and unusual. The scent will attract someone special. I love this fragrance and always will. It's a little expensive for me at this time, but probably be around for awhile. Don't pass this up.

For Grandma

I'm glad I tested this in the store before purchasing. I thought with all the great reviews this was going to smell amazing. It smells like an old school grandma perfume. I couldn't wait to get home to wash it off.

My Signature Scent

I absolutely love this perfume, I have been stopped in the mall by complete strangers, often men, who want to know what I'm wearing. It's the only scent I wear now.
