Flash Bronzer Self-Tanning Lotion

Formula changed

I had purchased this product a couple of years ago and only used it a few times. I started using it recently about every other day with positive results. When I ordered this again and started to use it I noticed it was more gel-like, less lotion-like than the bottle I had just finished. The old formula spread well, didn't leave streaks and as long as I only used it every other day, it did not have the orange-y appearance some self tanners typically produce. The new formula on the other hand, I've used 3 times now, 2 of which left weird streaks and using 2 times in 4 days made me look too orange for my liking. Would not recommend and will most likely return to try something different.

Uh oh, made me orange.

Have been looking for a good product for quite some time now, and unfortunately I've crossed this one off my list. When I used this gel in Sep/Oct (still having my base summer tan) it worked quite well. BUT, in the dead of winter when my skin was much lighter (although I have olive-tone skin), it made me look VERY orange. I do not recommend for anyone looking for a natural-looking tan.

LOVE it. But price has gone up!!

I have been using this bronzer for a few years now, and I love it. You have to be conscious when you apply b/c it dries fast, but once you learn to apply it quickly, you will love this characteristic of the product. I use it on both my face and body, mixing it in with my face lotion sometimes. However, the price has gone up!!! I really have to say...$40 is a LOT for this small bottle of product. Great product, but I'm kind of mad at Lancome for delivering such a small amount of product for this price now.... Characteristics: -Quick drying gel -LONG lasting -Great color guide -Color develops in 30 minutes (amazing, not joking! but you still have to leave it on for the full 6-8 hours so it doesn't wash off) -one solid application is enough for good strong color -the color is deep but golden, not super deep brown (but NOT orange. Think "fresh" tan. Love this.) -it DOES have a strong bronzer smell, but it is a unique sweet smell that I actually like! (And so does my boyfriend) NOTE - this is a completely different product from the LEG gel, and the bottles look exactly alike. The leg gel is very shimmery and does not dry as quickly as this one for some strange reason. Not in love with that one at all. You really have to pay attention to make sure you buy the one you are looking for!

Very streaky and leaves an orange color to my skin

I've used bronzers before and decided to try a gel-based bronzer for quick absorption and drying. I only used it on my legs and I'm so thankful because the streaks and orangey color looks terrible.

Easy to apply

I read about this product in a current women's magazine. So glad I tried it. Goes on easy and didn't streak except for my feel. I gotta remember to put lotion on to blend.

Best Self Tanner Ever!

I've tried every self tanner under the sun and this is by far the best. It dries quickly and best of all, it doesn't have the icky self tanner smell.

I've tried a number of bronzers/self tanners and this is by far the best, most natural looking one. Dries, quickly, doesn't stink and lasts a long time. I put it on my entire body, and use it every other day and it lasts a long time.

UPDATE - Still in love

I reviewed this product shortly after I purchased it last summer, and loved it then (aside from small things). I still have the SAME bottle of bronze that I have been using sparingly before special occasions to get a sun-kissed glow. I have found that it goes further if you squeeze some out in the center of your palm, rub between both hands and then massage into the area you're applying it to. I am not sure what another reviewer mentioned about there being sparkles? There are absolutely no 'sparkles' in this product... It is a tan translucent gel (much like hair gel) for your skin. It has never caused me any breakouts despite my sensitive skin, and I have never been bothered by the smell - in fact I quite like the smell, it reminds me of the beach. Again, my only advice is to apply sparingly and evenly, and give yourself plenty of time to thoroughly massage it into your skin so you don't miss areas. Also wouldn't advise going to bed right after application because it can rub off on your sheets. But I would recommend leaving it on for several hours before rinsing it off.. for the best glow.

Ok, not in love

I sort of feel like this leaves the bronzer smell, but doesn't change your color. I was looking for something that would give a sun kissed glow, but I used this a few times, and find that it didn't really change my very white office sitting skin. Not sure if I didn't use enough or what, but I was disappointed

AMAZING

This product is amazing! I have never found a product that does not make me orange because I am so white. It has the best tan I have ever had and it looks so natural!!!! So worth the cost ...Oh and it does not smell like the other tanners do :)

Made me break out!

I REALLY wanted to love this product because the color it produced was a nice golden glow. I am normally very pale, as in sometimes I can't find any foundation in Sephora that is light enough for my color, but I had to be tan in 1 week for a performance. The color wasn't blotchy, streaky, or orange. However, this is honestly the only good thing I have to say about this product. Here are the negatives- -The main one for me, which I know not everyone will have a problem with, is that it made me break out in welts. I have sensitive skin (but not overly-sensitive), and the sparkles in the product irritated my skin so badly that I still have red scars on my back from the scratching. I haven't changed my soap/detergent/etc., and after discontinuing the product for a week, I have confirmed it was the tanner. -The size of the bottle for the price is much too small. After using it for a week for 4 days all over my body, I was almost finished with the bottle. St.Tropez comes with twice the amount of product for $10 more. -The color fades too quickly. Of course after I showered it was a bit lighter, but after I stopped using the product I was pale as could be less than a week later. -The smell. Personally, smells don't bother me too much, so I didn't really care about the smell. But, if you're sensitive to that type of thing, be aware that it doesn't smell pleasant. Sort of like baby oil and rotten bananas. It's not strong, but you will be able to smell it for a couple of hours. Although it gave a nice color, it wasn't worth it in my experience.

Not as wonderful as I'd hoped

I read the reviews for this product, which made me think I'd be tanned at least within 5-6 hours. But this was not the case. I don't think it's worth the money. I'll stick with Jergen's Natural Glow - works better for 1/4 the price.
