My Most Honest Review

I use this as the first step in my double cleansing routine at night. Just this and the Vanicream gentle cleanser and I’ve never had such smooth, clear, and glossy skin. I would recommend double-cleansing with this because leaving it on your face without thoroughly washing it off can leave a waxy feeling (as some negative reviews had mentioned). You can still use water, but it saves time to use a gentle cleanser. Don’t worry, it’s easily avoidable :) The balm feels so luxurious and silky and helps me wind down at the end of the day. It follows through on its promise to “Take the Day Off.” It thoroughly removes my SPF and any makeup with ease. I’ve noticed in some comments about this, so I will mention, use some common sense when cleaning your eyes. Be sure not to get any in your eye as it will make your vision temporarily blurry (easily reversible with water) and treat the area gently. You won’t lose any eyelashes if you’re being gentle. Amazing product, amazing results. I loooove this and will continue to repurchase because it’s effective and lasts foreeeever.

Irritated my eyes

It removes makeup so well but it irritated my eyes so bad. It’s a shame because it’s such a great product. 😔

Gave me multiple styes

I really wanted to love this balm, but unfortunately give me five styes over the course of a couple weeks. My eyelashes started to fall out and bald. Do not recommend at all.

Love it

Got it as a gift (mini size) and definitely going to buy a bigger version. Beautifully removes the whole makeup, even the strong mascaras without burning eyes. In my experience, it didn't occur skin dryness or tightening sensation ❤️

Meh

Bought a giant tube of this. It does remove everything easily, but you have to follow with micellar water or a second cleanser if you don’t want your face to feel like it’s got a filmy layer on it

I’ve been using this as my makeup remover for YEARS and it’s a staple for me. If Clinique ever discontinues or changes it I will be incredibly sad. Gets off the toughest makeup with no irritation and leaves my skin soft and smooth.

Love this makeup remover!

Love this - it’s thick and leaves your face feeling soft and smooth. It doesn’t bother my eyes when I use it to remove mascara and gets it off much easier than mascara remover.

Best balm on the market (imo)

Works like a charm! I’ve purchased different brands of makeup cleansing balms, but this one is superior. It doesn’t irritate the eyes, and melts off the makeup without any lingering residue. Love how effective it is especially on the most stubborn mascara. Which is great since I hate losing eyelashes as I cleanse my face at night. I also like their makeup wipes, but the balm is a better bang for your buck since a little goes a long way.

Worth the buy!

After using this product for a few weeks, I realize why it was part of the allure best of the year. It feels clean, makes my face feel super clean & soft.

Must have item for all over make up removal

The best thing that i use daily. I shower at night and massage this over my makeup and it melts everything right off, I always follow up with a cleanser; I found if I don’t, I break out. I rub it right over my kids and lashes with no irritation

not worth the hype

It took off my makeup well, but after a few weeks of use, my face was covered with small textured bumps. And yes, I was double cleansing. This is the first time this has happened to me while using a cleansing balm.

This is the best cleansing balm I've tried. I have used ones from Farmacy, Elf, and others but Clinique continues to be my favorite. It is effective, doesn't have any dyes (to my knowledge) or obtrusive scents. It is a bit pricy so I usually restock when its on sale.
