This is not good

I have been using Crème de La Mer moisturizer for over 30 years. The most recent jar I opened did not have the iconic formulation or scent. This cream used to absorb quickly into the skin, now it’s super greasy it just sits on your skin. The smell is horrible. Goodbye to this iconic cream. Heartbroken.

Horrid

I had the most severe allergic reaction to this product. It was awful. I don’t know how they can sell this for so much money with how bad the product is.

There’s only one La Mer

I have used this off and on for 25 years.i always switch my products around. But this is a staple in my rotation. When I get a stubborn dry patch or my skin is looking lifeless or is irritated from too many actives, it brings it back to healthy, hydrated and glowing g. Do Not Believe the claims that is it is just Baseline or that Nivea is the same stuff. That’s a flat out lie. Is it horrendously expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. If you need it and can afford it.

Fragrance, break outs

I have the same criticisms as others. The artificial added fragrance is overwhelming and gives me a headache. It breaks me out. It seemed to help my eczema patches but so does Vaseline. There is no way this is worth even half the price.

My skin absolutely loves this!

Unfortunately for my wallet my super sensitive loves this thick moisturizer!! After warming a small amount on my fingers, it melt like butter on my skin! I’ve tried so many other popular and cheaper moisturizers over the years, but nope my skin loves this one the best. lol

The price is crazy but so are the results 😭

I got this sample months and never used it. Recently my skin had been reacting poorly to stuff and I decided to pull it out of the drawer and try it. When I tell you I felt like miracles happened. In one day my skin was calm and not flaking, and my couoke of blemishes had gone down overnight. By day 3, my fresher blemish was gone and is now a little scared that hopefully goes away. Day 2 my forehead wrinkle that was getting deeper went back to its normal barely there line. My under eye wrinkles which are very fine but had been causing me to buy different concealer to find one that worked with them, gone. my concealer lays flat and there are no lines to settle into. I am so on the fence if I want to splurge and get a 2 oz because its so magical but ive been researching and using a couple different products together may achieve the same thing..however a couple different products adds up to almost the same amount as this.

Tried it after years

I used a code to get a sample because I wanted to see what the hype was about. I’m so upset because it’s so expensive and my skin absolutely loved it.

Used this for 25+ years and no wrinkles at 50

I have used La Mer since I was 23 or 24 years old. I am turning 50 this summer. I don't have a line on my face. My only complaint is the fragrance which is a mature scent that I've never liked. Other than that, this is a flawless formula. I care about results. I've tried other brands but nothing does it like La Mer.

Thick heavy moisturizer

This product is just okay. I am in latter 60;s and have found SO MANY other inexpensive brands to be way more lux on my skin. DO NOT WASTE MONEY on this. I know it has research behind it and many, many celebs think it's the holy grail......but, it's from another era, and thankfully research didn't stop with this product! The powers that be have progressed to a place where we can use better products for less money and love 'em as our holy grail. So, honestly a review...this product is heavy, and it does stay sticky. I use a little 'cause it is quite concentrated and I have had a small vial a while now. It hydrates my face and with all the other serums and sunscreens, plays nicely. If you want this brand, it will be a good choice, however don't buy it 'cause it is celebrity endorsed. You can and should do better!

Smells like old lady cream!

It smells and feels like and old school cold cream, or maybe nivea cream. I got this as a sample and definitely wouldn't pay a cent for this stuff...in fact, I think I'm throwing out the sample. It stinks!

Smells like Ponds, sticky and greasy

Does not live up to the hype. I was so excited for this moisturizer since it sounds so luxurious, and the marketing makes it sound like a miracle for the skin. However, in reality, I haven't found this to be an amazing product. Firstly, the scent smells exactly like Pond's face cream which immediately makes me think this product is cheap. Secondly, the texture is very hard to work with. It is very gluey and pulls on the skin if I apply it straight from the jar. I find it works better if I really vigorously rub my hands together to warm up the product to make it easier to apply. It feels very heavy and greasy on my skin, and maybe the heaviness would be better for drier months, or those with dry skin. For me, this product just doesn't live up to the expectations. I think the ceramic jar is nice, but visually the product doesn't look high end with the plain white, almost medicinal looking design. Overall, I am disappointed by the product and not repurchasing.

Why?

I really don't understand the hype with this product. The scent is overwhelming and it is literally mineral oil, petroleum and algae. It it just a very thick cream with fragrance and algae. I have used far better moisturizers. Just use Nivea if you want a cream like this.
