I actually bought the cocoa for my level 2/3 glossed hair. My natural hair is about the same level but picks up a lot of reddy/copper tones in the sun. My stylist recommended this product to me to keep it looking fresh. One bottle is half the price of a gloss service so this is great! Also saves it from fading as quickly. I underestimated how much pigment it would truly have given it is available out of the salon and didn’t wear gloves the first time, big mistake lol. The reviews on this are hilarious and I’m surprised they sell this to the public tbh. It is a colour depositing mask meaning you need to treat it as a colouring product. If you coloured your blonde hair brown it would turn muddy green because your missing pigments need to be filed. I it didn’t show up on your dark hair it’s because ta too dark. If it’s patchy, you applied it patchy or you have multiple levels of lift, layers of colour and/or a mix of treated and untreated hair. The colour chart says what colours are recommended for which so probably use that. Or better, ask your stylist which one you should use.

I bought the color Bordeaux. The ends of my hair are dyed a ruby red, I got this to maintain the color without having to go to the salon as often. This has worked out so well for me, I use it 1-2x a week and my color looks as fresh as it did when leaving the salon. First, I put it on dry hair, I separate my hair into thin strands, and distribute it while wearing gloves and sometimes I will blend it in with a comb. It says leave it in for 5 min before rinsing with water but I found that 30min leaves a vibrant color. It also leaves your hair very soft after a wash. I don't think this works well in natural hair, as the top layers of my hair are a medium brown and it only provided a sheer tint if I accidentally get some on it. But for maintaining a similar dyed color, it works perfectly. Lasts me about 3-4 washes (with cool water) and not using too many hot tools on your hair. After that, I reapply. Overall, worth the money especially if your dyed color is one that fades fast. Only downside for me is the strong scent of the product.

Useless mask, it doesn’t do anything. Smells amazing but that’s all. I will return.

Too fragrant and dried out my hair

I wanted this to work but it is a pass. The smell is too strong and it didn’t really do what was intended while sadly drying out my hair.

Turned my brown hair green. Tried everything to get it out. Had to get a professional all over color to get rid of it.

A great product

This was pretty good. It conditions well , but i don’t notice a huge color difference.

Be warned! Bordeaux is NOT a deep red - Magenta!

Be aware that this product is definitely not the deep burgundy red that you are expecting! I used this as a touch up for when my burgundy faded a bit and this turned my hair a pretty vivid magenta. Even at that it totally missed some spots even though my hair was completely saturated and some pieces did not turn the same colour as others. Very inconsistent, not the advertised colour. Overall it does definitely work for depositing colour and left my hair nice and soft, but be aware of the colour you are getting!

True to colour

My hairdresser recommended this product to help reduce salon visits. It revitalized my faded red, and made a very vibrant red on my light streaks. Lasts several washes too, especially on lighter sections. Looking forward to experimenting with different colours.

Change in formula??

I have been using this product for 4 years now and I recently just restocked. The formula this time was grayish undertone rather than the typical reddish undertone. After I rinsed my hair came out green and has been smelling burnt and sounds like a chalkboard when I straighten it.
